Government of Sindh Investing Huge Resources for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities - Hadi Bakhsh Kalhoro, Secretary DEPD

     Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, Mr. Hadi Bakhsh Kalhoro along with Regional Director DEPD Hyderabad Region Mrs. Salma Adil visited to the various centers on 7 November 2022 in Hyderabad Region.

     As per details, they visited office of Regional Director, Rehabilitation Center of Multiple Handicapped Children (RCMHC) Hyderabad, Deaf Reach School for Deaf run by NGO in Hyderabad, GSE&RCs at G.O.R Colony Hyderabad, GSE&RC and SETTAS Khuda ki Basti Taluka Kotri, District Jamshoro and GSE&RC at Tando Muhammad Khan.

     The secretary DEPD expressed his thoughts on part of teachers and appreciated good practice of some centers. The secretary DEPD planted tree in the center at Hyderabad and interacted and mingled with the students of the centers and enquired about the working of the centers. He also inspected the school buildings and classrooms. Some parents also met with Mr. Hadi Bakhsh Kalahoro. 

    Elaborating more secretary said: “Government is spending a huge sum and resources in development and non-development sector for empowerment of persons with disabilities, the shortage of staff is in our notice and we have advertised posts through Sindh Public Service Commission.” Secretary DEPD said that delay in Disability Assessment Certificates will not be tolerated anymore. He urged the teaching staff to make the teaching-learning process more practical and motivating so that students take up their studies with utmost devotion.
